As players progress through the game, they must decide which side to support - or even create their own faction - leading to complex moral decisions that challenge dominant constructions of gender and sexual orientation.

There's the "Mass Effect" trilogy, which follows Commander Shepard as he/she fights against a race of genetically engineered aliens known as the Reapers. This game features romantic relationships between male and female characters of various species, including humans, Turians (a reptilian humanoid), and Asari (a race of blue-skinned women). The complexity of these relationships is further enhanced by the fact that many characters have multiple genders and sexual orientations, giving players more opportunities to experiment with identity and desire.

Video games offer an immersive environment in which players can explore different narratives and identities outside of traditional norms. By using new frameworks like those discussed above, designers can push boundaries and expand our understanding of what it means to be human in a way that few other media formats can achieve.
