Someone who uses the pronouns "they/them" might date multiple partners at once or engage in polyamorous relationships. These practices challenge the idea that romantic relationships must be limited to two people and suggest that love and intimacy can take many forms beyond just heterosexual monogamy.

Non-binary embodiment questions the assumption that all sexual acts and desires should fit within a strict framework of heteronormativity. Someone who identifies as pansexual, for example, may be attracted to people regardless of their gender identity or expression.
