However, people who hold positions of power also deserve privacy in their personal lives, especially when it comes to matters like relationships and sexuality. This right to privacy is protected under Article 8 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which states that "Everyone has the right to respect for his private and family life, his home and his correspondence." In many countries, laws have been enacted to protect the privacy of individuals, preventing media organizations from publishing certain types of information without consent or just cause.
