Queer Temporality
Queer temporality refers to an understanding of time that is nonlinear, cyclical, and sometimes non-existent, which differs from conventional Western views of time as linear, progressive, and measurable. It also challenges traditional ideas about history, identity, and social change. Queer temporalities have been explored through various academic disciplines such as critical race theory, feminist studies, and postcolonial studies, but they are still relatively new concepts in mainstream discourse.
In queer temporality, there is no single chronology or narrative for human experiences. Instead, people move back and forth between different moments in their lives, reliving past experiences or imagining possible futures without being limited by a single linear sequence of events.
