Perpetuation of Subtle Sexual Bias

In educational institutions, biphobia remains widespread despite efforts towards inclusion. This includes stereotypes about bisexuals as promiscuous, indecisive, confused, immature, and unstable. These biases are often perpetuated through subtle microaggressions like jokes, assumptions, and misgendering.

Someone might assume that all bisexuals have had multiple partners or question their identity if they're in a relationship with someone from outside their own gender. This type of discrimination leads to a feeling of otherness and isolation for bisexual students.

Coming out to peers, teachers, and administrators can be risky due to potential backlash or rejection. Some choose not to come out at all, while others carefully select which people they share their identity with.
