THE POWER OF SEXUAL SUPPORT: HOW PHYSICAL INTIMACY HELPS BUILD TRUST, RESILIENCY & TEAM COHESION

Sexual support is a type of emotional support that involves sharing intimate physical and mental experiences between partners. It can be verbal, nonverbal, and/or touching and includes activities such as kissing, hugging, holding hands, massage, cuddling, and more. Sexual support has been shown to be associated with higher levels of relational trust, psychosexual resilience, and moral cohesion among military teams. Relational trust is the belief that one's partner will act in their best interest and protect them from harm. Psychosexual resilience refers to the ability to bounce back after a sexual setback, while moral cohesion describes how members of an organization share similar values and beliefs. In this paper, I discuss how sexual support enhances relational trust, psychosexual resilience, and moral cohesion in army teams.

When soldiers engage in sexual activity, they build a deeper connection with each other and feel safe communicating their innermost thoughts and desires. This leads to increased transparency and openness, which contributes to relational trust.

When soldiers tell each other about their past relationships or fantasies, it allows them to understand each other better and form closer bonds.

When soldiers show vulnerability during sex, it creates a sense of safety and security within the team, leading to stronger interpersonal connections. These connections can help strengthen morale and increase loyalty towards the group.

Psychosexual resilience also benefits from sexual support. When soldiers experience disappointment or rejection in their sexual lives, they may become distressed or even depressed.

By having someone who supports them through these challenging times, they are less likely to experience long-term negative effects on their mental health. Sexual support provides emotional comfort and a shoulder to cry on, helping soldiers overcome obstacles more easily. It helps them develop coping skills and learn from their mistakes without feeling ashamed or embarrassed.

Sexual support is crucial for maintaining positive psychological well-being among soldiers.

Sexual support contributes to moral cohesion within military teams. By sharing common interests and experiences, soldiers create a sense of community and belonging. They feel like part of something bigger than themselves and have shared values and beliefs. This fosters camaraderie and solidarity, leading to improved teamwork and collaboration. Members of an army unit with strong moral ties tend to work together more effectively and share resources, including information, equipment, and supplies. They also have greater motivation to achieve success, leading to higher performance levels.

Sexual support plays a vital role in enhancing relational trust, psychosexual resilience, and moral cohesion in army teams. Through intimacy and vulnerability, soldiers build stronger relationships, recover faster after setbacks, and form deeper connections with each other. These benefits can translate into better decision-making abilities, increased productivity, and overall team effectiveness. Therefore, it is essential that leaders promote sexual support as part of the training regimen to ensure optimal performance among their troops.

How does sexual support enhance relational trust, psychosexual resilience, and moral cohesion in army teams?
