The term 'divine truth' refers to the absolute truth revealed by God through His Word. It means that the truth is eternal, universal, unchanging, and authoritative. Divine truth can be found in various areas such as history, science, philosophy, religion, and so on.
What if this truth comes from people who have been historically marginalized and condemned as unholy? Does it mean that they are now accepted by God? Are their lives transformed? Is divine truth still valid despite their past actions?
In biblical times, many groups were considered unholy.
Women were seen as inferior to men, slaves were seen as property, homosexuals were persecuted, and those outside of Israel were regarded as barbarians. These groups faced discrimination, prejudice, oppression, and violence for centuries. Yet, when Jesus Christ came, He embraced them all and treated them with love, compassion, and dignity. He ate with tax collectors, prostitutes, and sinners; He healed lepers, paralytics, and blind people. He welcomed outcasts, foreigners, and children into His Kingdom. This showed that divine truth could reveal itself even among those who were once marginalized.
Today, there are many groups still considered unholy or marginalized. They include LGBTQ+ individuals, sex workers, drug addicts, prisoners, refugees, immigrants, and people living in poverty. Their lives may have been marked by trauma, abuse, neglect, or violence. But if they accept the divinity of Christ and seek Him with sincerity and humility, they can find true freedom and wholeness through Him. The Holy Spirit can transform their hearts and minds so they become new creations in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Divine truth is not limited to perfect people but extends to those who repent and believe in Christ. It means that God's love is for everyone regardless of their past or present circumstances. It means that forgiveness and redemption are available to all who turn to Him. It means that we should love our neighbors as ourselves (Mark 12:31), including those who are different from us.
As followers of Christ, we must embrace this message of hope and spread it to others. We cannot judge others based on their past or current status. Instead, we should show them the love of God and help them find healing and restoration. May we be instruments of His grace in a world that needs it more than ever!
