This study will explore how men and women differ in their perceptions of solo versus partnered play when using toys.
Men and women may both perceive solo play differently from each other due to cultural norms and social conditioning. Men who masturbate regularly report higher levels of sexual satisfaction than those who do not. Women who masturbate report similar levels of arousal, orgasm, and satisfaction compared to men. Solo play provides a sense of control and privacy for both genders. However, partnered play offers intimacy, emotional connection, communication, and physical stimulation.
When it comes to using sex toys, women generally require clitoral stimulation while men need more penetrative stimulation. Women often feel embarrassed about bringing up toys during sexual encounters and therefore rely on trial-and-error methods. On the other hand, men see themselves as 'masters' of their own bodies and may feel threatened by partners introducing toys into the bedroom.
