HOW TO EMBRACE YOUR SEXUAL CURIOSITY DESPITE CULTURAL NORMS AND RELIGIOUS BELIEFS

2 min read Theology

Erotic curiosity is a natural human instinct that has been present since the beginning of time. It is an intrinsic part of our biology, psychology, and social behavior. We are attracted to each other physically, emotionally, and mentally, and this attraction leads to various forms of pleasure, such as kissing, cuddling, caressing, holding hands, hugging, making out, petting, and intercourse.

There are many societal norms and taboos related to sexuality, which can cause fear among individuals who engage in it.

Some cultures prohibit certain forms of public displays of affection, while others condemn homosexuality or extramarital affairs. Some religions teach that sex is only for procreation, and any form of pleasure outside of that purpose is sinful. This creates confusion, anxiety, guilt, shame, and embarrassment in people seeking intimacy outside their cultural or religious context. They may feel conflicted between their desires and beliefs, leading to feelings of isolation, alienation, and rejection. These feelings often lead to self-hatred, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and even suicidal thoughts.

People with more liberal views on sexuality do not experience these negative emotions because they understand their bodies, minds, and hearts better. They accept themselves and their needs without feeling guilty or ashamed. They also tend to be less judgmental towards others and more open-minded about different types of relationships. They know that love and attraction come in all shapes and sizes and that everyone deserves the right to express their romantic and sexual preferences. They seek to fulfill their erotic curiosity by trying new things, exploring their boundaries, and learning from each other.

Religious fear shapes erotic curiosity by creating negative feelings that prevent us from experiencing our full potential as humans. We should break free from these societal norms and embrace our natural inclinations to find true happiness and well-being.
