Sexualization is defined as making something sexually appealing or attractive. It can refer to an object, behavior, concept, experience, attitude, or person. In this case, I will discuss how sexualized perception influences employees' willingness to share information, admit mistakes, and seek help. This study examines if there is any correlation between how an employee perceives their work environment as sexually charged and their attitudes towards these three actions.
Research Methodology
The research method used for this study was quantitative. The sample size was limited to female participants because the effects of sexualization on male employees are different from those of females. The experiment involved presenting participants with a set of statements about their workplace, including some that were sexualized and others that were neutral. Participants were then asked to rate their level of agreement with each statement using a scale of 1 to 5, where 1 indicated strong disagreement and 5 indicated strong agreement. The results showed that when faced with sexualized situations, women tend to feel more uncomfortable sharing information, admitting mistakes, and seeking help than in non-sexualized ones.
