Those who follow Islamic law also reject homosexuality, but additionally consider it punishable by death in certain circumstances. Thus, believers of either faith may find it difficult to accept gay partners or friends.
People belonging to liberal religious groups may have more relaxed views on sexuality. They may allow premarital sex, birth control, divorce, and same-sex relationships. This allows them to perceive a wider range of potential partners, including those with differing views on sexuality.
