This concept has received extensive research attention in various domains including psychology, sociology, organizational behavior, and management. Researchers have found that relational trust can enhance individual's coping strategies, increase commitment to the group, improve communication within teams, reduce stress levels, foster collaboration among individuals, and ultimately facilitate performance effectiveness in high-stakes military environments.

I will explore how relational trust influences resilience and coping in high-stakes military environments. The impact of relational trust on resilience and coping has been studied extensively using both qualitative and quantitative methods. Qualitative studies involve interviews, surveys, focus groups, case studies, etc., while quantitative studies utilize experimental designs involving randomized control trials or field experiments. These studies suggest that relational trust contributes positively to resilience and coping by promoting greater openness with each other and helping people manage emotions like anxiety, fear, and anger more effectively during difficult times.

It helps individuals build social capital, reduce isolation, develop self-efficacy, and boost motivation.

A study conducted by Smith et al (2015) surveyed soldiers who had experienced combat trauma and found that those with higher levels of relational trust were more likely to display positive coping mechanisms such as problem-solving skills, reframing negative events into opportunities for growth, seeking support from others, and avoiding risky behaviors. Another study by Yang et al (2021) examined the role of relational trust in promoting psychological wellbeing among veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). These findings highlight the importance of investing in building relational trust amongst team members in order to promote resilience and cope effectively during challenging situations such as combat trauma or other high-stress scenarios.
