To answer this question, the researchers surveyed participants from various backgrounds who had experience working with both attractive and unattractive leaders. The surveys asked respondents about their opinions of the leaders they worked with based on various aspects such as confidence, competence, charisma, trustworthiness, and persuasiveness. The results showed that perceived leadership credibility decreased when leaders were attractive but increased when leaders demonstrated more competence. In contrast, there was no significant relationship between perceived decision-making authority and attractiveness. These findings suggest that while sexual attraction may play a role in leadership effectiveness, it is not always a reliable predictor of success.
