This can happen to anyone, regardless of gender, age, race, ethnicity, appearance, etc. Although many people have been exposed to this phenomenon since childhood, there are certain situations where it is more likely to occur, such as in romantic relationships or professional interactions. In these contexts, sexualized attention affects peer accountability and professional responsibility.
When someone receives undue attention due to their physical attributes instead of their character traits or skills, it may make them feel uncomfortable and even violated. They might also feel judged based on stereotypes about what others think they should be doing sexually, which could lead to misunderstandings and conflicts.
If a man looks at a woman with lustful eyes while she is talking to him, he could be seen as creepy by his colleagues or even face disciplinary action.
