EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE: THE KEY TO SEXUAL SATISFACTION AND LONGTERM RELATIONSHIP STABILITY enIT FR DE PL PT RU JA CN ES

The ability to manage one's own and others' emotions is an essential component of well-being and social success. High levels of emotional intelligence have been linked to increased job performance, academic achievement, and better relationships across multiple domains. Research suggests that individuals who can accurately perceive and regulate their own feelings may also experience greater emotional and physical health benefits, including improved mental functioning and cognitive control. This study aimed to explore whether high emotional intelligence predicts more positive outcomes in romantic relationships.

This research investigated the relationship between emotional intelligence, sexual satisfaction, relational harmony, and long-term relational stability among adults in committed romantic relationships. Participants were recruited through online advertisements, and completed surveys assessing their level of emotional intelligence, sexual satisfaction, relational harmony, and length of time together with their current partner. Results indicated that higher levels of emotional intelligence predicted increased sexual satisfaction and relational harmony, as well as longer-lasting relationships.

These findings suggest that emotional intelligence plays a crucial role in successful romantic partnerships, and that it may be possible to cultivate these skills to improve relationship quality. Further research should investigate the mechanisms underlying this relationship, as well as the potential for targeted interventions to enhance emotional intelligence in order to promote better romantic relationships.

The present study provides new insights into the relationship between emotional intelligence and romantic relationship functioning, highlighting its importance in promoting sexual satisfaction, relational harmony, and long-term relational stability. These findings emphasize the need for continued exploration of the factors that contribute to successful romantic relationships, and the potential for targeted interventions to promote emotional intelligence and healthy relationships.

Can high emotional intelligence predict sexual satisfaction, relational harmony, and long-term relational stability?

Yes, there is research that indicates individuals with higher levels of emotional intelligence are more likely to experience greater sexual satisfaction, better relational harmony, and greater longevity in their romantic relationships. Research by David G. Myers (2017) found that individuals who possessed strong emotional competence skills, such as empathy and self-awareness, were able to identify and manage their own feelings as well as those of others in interpersonal contexts.
