Co-creation refers to the process of creating something together, whereby both parties share ideas, resources, and expertise to achieve a common goal. Co-creating learning environments allow students to actively engage in the learning process and contribute their unique experiences and knowledge to the group. This creates an environment where everyone feels valued and heard, leading to greater buy-in from all members of the community.

It fosters critical thinking skills as students are forced to consider different perspectives and formulate solutions collaboratively. To create such a space, educators must be open to new ideas and be willing to listen to their students' needs and concerns.

Inclusion means ensuring that every student has equal access to learning opportunities, regardless of background or identity. This requires teachers to be aware of their own biases and assumptions and to actively work to eliminate barriers that may prevent certain groups from succeeding.

Educators might use inclusive language when referring to gender pronouns or avoid making assumptions about family dynamics. They might also ensure that materials reflect a variety of identities and experiences so that all students feel represented.

They should strive for a welcoming classroom culture that celebrates diversity and accepts individual differences.

Relational learning emphasizes building relationships between students and teachers based on trust, mutual respect, and shared purpose. In this type of learning environment, students and teachers engage with each other on equal footing, exchanging information and perspectives freely. Relational learning can take many forms but typically involves activities like role-playing, cooperative projects, and dialogue. These activities help students develop essential life skills such as communication, empathy, and collaboration, which will serve them well beyond the classroom walls.
